During the 21st century in Argentina and Brazil, as in other mainly Western geopolitics, sexual education was formalized as public policy and a central institutional scene in disputes over the (il)legitimacy of the erotic and affective borders of citizenship. At the same time, it was consolidating in an interdisciplinary way as a field of investigative and theoretical intersection in educational sciences and gender and sexualities studies. Mainly, in these processes of production and circulation of knowledge, feminist activism and sexualgender dissidents, in coordination with other political spaces such as student centers, unions, guilds and political parties, were reorienting and critically reformulating the questions about and from the pedagogies of desire, affects and emotions. Articles are presented focusing on situated histories of sexual education in Argentina and Brazil, according on the historicity and integral, transversal, intersectional and/or multidimensional nature of the pedagogical, educational and hermeneutical practices articulated formally and/or informally between the teachings and learning beyond schooling, teacher education and training, academic research, scientific production, clinical intervention, institutional management and political activism.
