In this article I critically explore the aesthetic valuations and statements of the pilagá (Formosa province, Argentina) with respect to their basketry production. The study of these statements, as part of dynamical social processes, involves multiple spheres of the social life of the pilagá. Hence, some questions that inspire this work are: What are the pilagá aesthetics statements with respect to their basketry production? In relation to which qualities these considerations are related? How the pilagá distinguish between their own aesthetic statements and those identified as outsiders? Why and how do these distinctions impact the craft production?
