Complot, especulación o muestra de coraje: Vandor y el retorno fallido de Perón en 1964

Abstract

En el presente artículo revisamos la acción del dirigente metalúrgico Augusto Vandor en el retorno fallido de Juan Perón a la Argentina en diciembre de 1964. Para hacerlo, presentamos la bibliografía que lo ubicó como responsable del fracaso, y aquella que trató de revisar esa acusación; recuperamos diversos testimonios, publicaciones periódicas y material de archivo para tratar de ubicar a Vandor en el contexto del retorno. A partir del cruce de esos materiales aspiramos a repensar algunos aspectos de la interna de ese movimiento político, así como aportar a la comprensión de las tensiones de los liderazgos dentro del mismo, durante unos años particulares del período de la proscripción.In this article we seek to understand the action of the metallurgical leader Augusto Vandor around the failed return of Juan Perón to Argentina in December 1964. To do so, we present the bibliography that found him responsible for the failure, and the bibliography which tried to review that accusation. We recovered various testimonies, periodical publications and archival material to try to place Vandor in the context of the return. From the intersection of these materials, we aspire to rethink some aspects of the peronism, as well as to contribute to the understanding of the tensions of the leaderships within it, during the political proscription period.
