The purpose of this article is to account for projects and ideas of the players related to the Argentine Ministry of Social Welfare (MBS) in the context of two dictatorships: the “Revolución Argentina” (the Argentine Revolution) (1966-1973) and the last Argentine military dictatorship (1976-1983). To this end, on the one hand, the main objectives of the MBS are presented, focusing on the characteristics of players involved in social policy development. Considering that many officers of the ministry being studied were Catholic militants, the article is intended to explain the relationship between the policies they introduced and the ideas they defended. On the other hand, breaks and continuities of the main social policies of both dictatorships are analyzed.
