The aim of this study was to evaluate the efectiveness of fumagillin, under field conditions in the treatment of Nosemosis. Two hundred hives were treated with fumagillin in Santa Fe province from January 2007 to May 2008. Honeybees samples were taken to spore counting before and after treatment, evaluating the hive´s condition. The effectiveness of fumagillin was higher during 2008 and when the treatment was conducted in May and June. Romang, Saladero Cabal and Vera were the locations with significant reductions in the counts of Nosema sp. spores. The treatment may not be effective in itself but as a result of the renewal of honeybees. To improve treatment effectiveness and to reduce the impact of the disease, would be advisable to know the variation of spores count throughout the year, with the aim to determine the critical dates of treatment. It is considered necessary to conduct aditional surveys to analice the impact of external factos to the treatment. It is an observational study, so there shoud be conducted an experimental study to evaluate the fumagillin efectiveness in the Nosemosis treatment, measuring both, the spores count and prevalence of infected bees.
