Resumen

This chapter examines the impact of climate change and glacier ice melting on the wine industry in the Andean region. Analysing this topic is important for three reasons. First, the wine industry has historically held significant economic importance in the Andes region, especially in Argentina and Chile. Second, climate change and the melting of glacier ice have significantly impacted the dynamics of the industry, requiring significant corporate adaptation and re-configuration of international supply chains in which Andean wine firms participate. Third, the evidence collected here offers a historical approach and draws on a geographical region and industry through the lenses of climate change, all of which have not yet been researched from the point of view of business history.
