In this paper we analyze the social representations of teachers about what makes a good student of physics and how physics is learned. To this end, we designed two Likert scales which were applied to a sample of teachers from different specialities, who teach in different districts. Based on the results obtained it is possible to think that it is the expectations and attitudes of teachers what may predispose themselves to a particular way of facing their task in the different contexts. Thus, it becomes necessary to generate spaces where teachers reflect on their representations and link them with their teaching strategies and with the students’ achievement when learning physics.
