This text approaches the journalistic interventions of Mariano Grondona to the third government of Juan Perón in the newspaper La Opinion. Part of a generation of liberal-conservative intellectuals who rose to public space after the 1955 coup, the lawyer and journalist gradually moved his positions closer to a "non-Peronist" rather than an anti-Peronist profile and supported Perón as the guarantor of a centrist order with his return to power in 1973. The central reading of his opinion journalism was to propose a balance between political parties and power factors in favor of overcoming "the Argentina of the extremes" established after that coup d'état, with special attention to the problem of violence and the internal conflicts in Peronism.
