In this article, from a multidisciplinary perspective, we want to discuss environmental issues in Comodoro Rivadavia around oil exploitation. In this sense, the analysis begins in relation to the effects of this economic activity on different issues that are part of living in the city, mainly focusing on the forms and limits on access to urban land and how this influences the life conditions and daily practices, drawn by socio-environmental inequalities that are increased in those urban spaces product of “toma de tierras”, mainly through actions that tend to condemn in an exclusive manner these neighborhoods and its people to live in conditions of environmental vulnerability, in cont rast to the rest of the city. As part of a critic environmental analysis, we question imaginaries and senses about oil and its environmental impacts on the whole comodorense society, also considering how the difficulties to denature the negative effects of this resource and the sacredness of it generate little awareness of the damage, degrees of affectation and commitment in the local quality of life.
