Soportes familiares en los recorridos educativos y laborales juveniles: expectativas y nuevas demandas

Abstract

La continuidad de las problemáticas laborales para las jóvenes generaciones y la expansión educativa son tópicos que tiñen los debates sobre transiciones, como así también lo es la influencia familiar como soporte de las actividades juveniles. La diversidad de combinaciones entre estos tres ámbitos (trabajo, educación y familia) delinean distintos caminos. En este marco, el objetivo del artículo ha sido dar cuenta de la importancia que adquieren los grupos familiares en los procesos de vinculación de las actividades de educación ? trabajo. Se trabajó con una metodología cualitativa realizando entrevistas a treinta egresados (cohorte 2011) de escuelas medias argentinas de distintos sectores sociales, entrevistados a cinco años de finalizar la educación obligatoria. El artículo analiza la relevancia que adquiere el rol de las familias en los recorridos dando cuenta del peso de su influencia. De la evidencia empírica se observan situaciones diversas de apoyos familiares que sirven de andamios o barreras para la continuidad educativa.

The continuity of the working problems for the young generations and the educational expansions are the topics present in the debates about transitions, as well as the family influence as a support of the juvenile activities. The diversity of combinations among these three realms (work, education and family) traces different manners. Within this framework, the objective of this article has been to account for the importance that the family groups acquire in the linking processes of the activities education–work. The methodology employed was qualitative privileging the application of interviews to thirty graduated from Argentinean high schools from different social sectors interviewed five years after they finished their compulsory education. Based on their answers, the relevan-ce that the role families acquire is analyzed to account for the weight of their influence. It is possible to observe diverse situations of family supports that serve as scaffolding or barriers for the educational continuity.
