Médicos de sí mismos.Medicina naturista, revolución social y éxodo de la ciudad en el anarquismo de Buenos Aires a comienzos del siglo XX

Abstract

En el presente trabajo me propongo analizar algunos de los discursos anarquistas en torno al naturismo, producidos en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina,durante los primeros años del siglo XX. Pondré especial énfasis en el modo en que dicha corriente de pensamiento fue propuesta como la posibilidad de una alternativa inmediata a las formas oficiales de la medicina y los modos de vida burguesa. En un primer apartado, retomaré una discusión sostenida en el periódico anarquista La Protesta Humana entre un médico naturista y un alópata,centrándome en las relaciones diferenciales que cada uno de ellos establecía entre salud y revolución social. Luego, en un siguiente apartado, retomaré los desarrollos desplegados por una utopía anarquista del período que remiten a la insuficiencia de la revolución para alcanzar el ideal naturista de una vida anárquica y la consecuente necesidad de emprender el éxodo de la ciudad.

In the present work I intend to analyze some of the anarchist discourses about naturism, produced in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the first years of the 20th century. I will place special emphasis on the way in which this thought was proposed as the possibility of an immediate alternative to the official forms of medicine and bourgeois ways of life. In a first section, I will revisit a sustained discussion in the anarchist newspaper La Protesta Humana between a naturalist doctor and an allopath, focusing on the differential relations that each of them established between health and social revolution. Then, in a following section, I will analyze the developments deployed by an anarchist utopia of the same period that refer to the insufficiency of the revolution to achieve the naturist ideal of an anarchic life and the consequent need to undertake the exodus of the city
