dc.description.abstract

The figure of the detective was and is object of a great amount of rereadings. Three recent games confirm a tendency in this landscape of reconfigurations: the figure, separated from its habitual place (the different varieties of the police), abandons the scene and plays a binding function that enables the interaction with the environment. In Gone Home (2013), Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (2015) and Tacoma (2017) presents a mystery that must be solved by navigating spaces, reading documents and manipulating objects. This investigation aims to assemble an missing story, but the general proposal of the games is not narrative, but exploratory. In all three cases there is a thematization about the possibility of accessing the truth of the events. This paper analyzes the reconversion of the figure of the detective and its transformation into an enunciative input, an area of textual habitability that facilitates contact with the discourse.
