Visiones críticas de las relaciones entre arte y vida: de las neovanguardias al escenario contemporáneo

Abstract

El presente artículo articula una serie de discusiones planteadas por críticos, teóricos y artistas en torno de las relaciones entre arte y vida. Dichas controversias enlazan el escenario de las neovanguardias en los años 60 y 70 con los debates por el fundamento de las prácticas artísticas en la actualidad. En los años 60, el happening impulsó la supresión de la distancia entre la esfera de la producción y la recepción artística, convocando la participación directa de los espectadores. Esta declaración es nuevamente enunciada por las estéticas relacionales, sus teóricos postulan que el objetivo de las obras de arte es generar nuevos lazos intersubjetivos. En oposición a este discurso encontramos la postura de Jacques Rancière, quien revaloriza dicha distancia como un elemento fundamental de la relación estética.

This article puts in relation a series of discussions from critics, theorists and artists about the relationship between art and life. Such controversies connect the scene of the neo-avantgarde in the 60s and 70s and the current polemics about the fundaments of artistic practices in our days. In the 60's, the happenings promoted the suppression of the distance between the sphere of artistic production and reception, invoking the direct participation of the spectators. This statement is newly enunciated by the relational aesthetics, their theorists proclaim that the objective of the art pieces is to generate new inter-subjective linkages. In opposition to these discourses we found the position of Jacques Rancière who appreciates this distance like a fundamental element of the aesthetic relationship.
