La plegaria como diálogo vasallático en el Poema de Fernán González

Abstract

Las plegarias insertas en el relato de la vida del héroe dentro del Poema de Fernán González son generalmente consideradas adiciones clericales, debidas al monje-poeta autor del texto. A través de ellas el conde entabla una conversación con Dios, que es fundamental para el entramado narrativo e ideológico del poema arlantino. El propósito de este artículo es analizar estas plegarias y las sucesivas respuestas que reciben, prestando especial atención al modo en que las tradiciones discursivas del contrato vasallático y la hagiografía convergen en la manera en que en este diálogo se configura el vínculo entre Fernán González y Dios.

The prayers inserted in the story of the hero’s life in the Poema de Fernán González are generally regarded as clerical additions, attributed to the monk-poet author of the text. Through them the count establishes a dialogue with God, which is fundamental to the narrative and ideological fabric of the Arlantine poem. The purpose of this article is to analyze these prayers and the responses they receive, paying special attention to the way the discursive traditions of the vassalage contract and hagiography converge in the manner in which the bond between Fernán González and God is configured throughout their conversation.
