Las paradojas del Reformismo Liberal. De la experiencia de la Liga a la construcción del partido (1897-1931)

Abstract

El artículo analiza el surgimiento de la Liga del Sur santafesina y su posterior transformación en Partido Demócrata Progresista, en el contexto de «ocaso» y fragmentación del régimen oligárquico y durante las décadas de ampliación electoral, tras la reforma de 1912. El propósito del texto es reconstruir las variaciones del «reformismo liberal», mostrando las paradojas que envolvieron a los demócratas progresistas, principalmente en la década de 1920, ante la crisis de la senda «reformista». En particular, cómo la erosión de la utopía liberal que había animado al partido en sus orígenes afectó sus formas de concebir el poder y la legitimidad política

The article analyzes the emergence of the Liga del Sur in Santa Fe and its subsequent transformation into the Democracia Progresista Party in the context of decline and fragmentation of the oligarchic regime and during the decades of electoral expansion, after the reform of 1912. The purpose of the text is to reconstruct the variations of the «liberal reformism», showing the paradoxes that wrapped the Demócratas Progresistas, especially in the 1920s, before the crisis of the «reformist» path. In particular, how the erosion of liberal utopia that had animated originally the party, affected their ways of thinking about power and political legitimacy
