Metaenunciación y traducción. Acerca de la motivación del (propio) nombre en la narrativa de Sandra Cisneros y de su traducción al español

Abstract

Este artículo explora algunos aspectos de la dimensión metaenunciativa del discurso en relación con la presencia de nombres propios en la obra narrativa de la escritora chicana Sandra Cisneros y en su traducción al español. Así, se ponderan, por un lado, los espacios enunciativos fronterizos que se gestan en torno a los nombres y que buscan señalar y abreviar diferencias lingüístico-culturales, y, por el otro, su recreación en las traducciones al español efectuadas por Poniatowska y Valenzuela. En este sentido, resulta de interés examinar la configuración de la imagen o ethos (Ducrot, [1984] 1986; Amossy, 1999) que se asocia al responsable de la enunciación global de este discurso literario (Locutor-Autor), tanto los textos originales como en las traducciones.

This article explores some aspects concerning the metaenunciative dimension of discourse with respect to the presence of proper names in Sandra Cisneros’s fiction as well as in its Spanish version. Attention will be given, on the one hand, to the border enunciative spaces created around the presence of names, which seek to signal and bridge linguistic-cultural differences; and, on the other, to their recreation in the Spanish rendering performed by Poniatowska and Valenzuela. Thus, it is of interest to examine the configuration of the image or ethos (Ducrot, [1984] 1986; Amossy, 1999) which is associated to the responsible for the global enunciation of this literary discourse (Locutor-Author), both in the original and translated texts.
