Espacialización del sujeto poético en Bayart (1995) de Pascalle Monnier

Abstract

El perfecto caballero "sans peur et sans reproche" aparece como sujeto, tema, personaje y motor de Bayart (París, P.O.L., 1995), el primer poemario publicado por Pascalle Monnier (Bordeaux, 1958). El abordaje contemporáneo del mito medieval recurre a diversos materiales -históricos, biográficos, pictóricos, filológicos- para configurar un texto de estructura compleja, que reúne distintas voces y manifestaciones discursivas (cartas, diarios íntimos, notas, observaciones). Este trabajo analizará particularmente el vínculo que se establece entre el sujeto poético y el espacio, partiendo del concepto de horizonte de Michel Collot (1989, 2005), en tanto frontera de lo visible y organizado y, al mismo tiempo, umbral de un espacio invisible e inasible. La ambigüedad del espacio presente en el discurso poético del siglo veinte resulta clave en esta reescritura del mito de Bayard, que privilegia un relato fragmentario, subjetivo y conciente de sus propios límites.

The perfect knight “fearless and remorseless” is the subject, theme, character and motor of Bayart (París, P.O.L., 1995), Pascalle Monnier’s (Bordeaux, 1958) first book of poems. The contemporary approach to the Medieval myth recurs to various kinds of material —historic, biographic, pictorial, philologic— to configure a complex text made of different voices and discourses (letters, journals, notes, observations). This paper analyses the relation of the poetic subject with space in the light of Michel Collot’s (1989, 2005) concept of “horizon” considered both as the frontier for the visible and organized space and as the threshold of the invisible and unreachable space. The ambiguity of space in twentieth century poetic discourse is a key factor in this rewriting of the myth of Bayard that results in a fragmentary, subjective and self-aware narrative.
