Análisis DAPSIWR de las playas Puerto Cardiel y Museo Mar, Mar del Plata, República Argentina

Abstract

Mar del Plata es una de las ciudades turísticas más importantes del país, cuyo principal atractivo es la playa, la cual provee servicios ecosistémicos que se han visto impactados por acciones antrópicas. El objetivo del presente trabajo es realizar un análisis de las playas del norte de la ciudad (Museo MAR y Puerto Cardiel) como sistema socioecológico. Para ello se aplicó el modelo DAPSIWR. Se trabajó con bibliografía, datos de organismos oficiales y relevamientos de campo. Entre los resultados, se observó que debido al incremento del turismo y la revalorización del sector norte se han incrementado los usos/actividades en la playa y la zona, vinculados con el turismo, el tránsito y la urbanización, que han provocado una mayor ocupación pública y privada sobre las playas. Ello ha generado que los servicios ecosistémicos de regulación y los culturales se vean especialmente afectados, en particular en relación con su capacidad de acceso libre. Por ello, se requiere un manejo integrado y apropiado del área analizada para preservar el ecosistema y sus servicios, reducir las presiones y promover acciones que busquen un desarrollo sostenible.

Mar del Plata is one of the most important tourist resorts of the country, famous for its beaches whose ecosystem services have been altered by human actions. The aim of this work is to study the northern beaches of the city (Museo MAR and Puerto Cardiel) as a socio-ecological system. Therefore, the DAPSIWR model has been used together with bibliography, official organism data, and field survey. The results show that due to the increase of tourism and the growing interest in the northern area, uses and activities on the beach and in the zone related to tourism, transit and urbanization have increased, which leads to a private and public occupation on the beaches. That has severely affected the regulating and cultural services, particularly in relation to their capacity for free access. Therefore, an appropriate and integrated management of the area is required to preserve the ecosystem and its services, reduce pressures and promote actions that seek for a sustainable development.
