Lo aterrorizante, lo espeluznante y lo siniestro: Cine de terror y teoría política

Abstract

Esta intervención sobre el dossier presenta una analítica de los miedos, que combina referencias cinematográficas tanto como teóricas. Para ello, se recurre a las reflexiones de Thomas Hobbes, Rudolf Otto y Sigmund Freud. Y esto permite establecer tres modalidades del miedo: el miedo al otro (lo aterrorizante), el miedo a lo otro (lo espeluznante) y el miedo a lo mismo (lo siniestro).

This intervention on the dossier presents an analysis of fears, by means of a combination of both cinematographic and theoretical references. The reflections of Thomas Hobbes, Rudolf Otto and Sigmund Freud are here taken into consideration. This allows us to establish three modalities of fear: fear of the others (the terrifying), fear of The Other (the eerie) and fear of the same (the sinister).
