El concepto de fragmento en la filosofía de Schopenhauer

Abstract

El artículo estudia la relación entre realidad, pensamiento y lenguaje en la filosofía de Arthur Schopenhauer a la luz de la noción de fragmento. Explora, primero,lo que se ha dado en llamar una “escritura fragmentaria”, i.e. un género literario propio del Romanticismo que Schopenhauer practica especialmente en su legado manuscrito. En segundo lugar, trata la noción de fragmento a la luz del problema general de la representación, esto es, la condición fragmentaria del pensamiento. En tercer lugar, muestra la presencia del concepto de fragmento en el contexto de la metafísica de la voluntad. Por último, a partir del desarrollo previo, ofrece una consideración de conjunto sobre el sentido de la relación entre realidad, pensamiento y lenguaje en la obra de Schopenhauer a partir del concepto de fragmento.

This paper examines the relationship between reality, thought, and language in Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophy through the lens of the notion of ‘fragment.’ Specifically, it addresses four key aspects: (1) It explores Schopenhauer’s use of ‘fragmentary writing,’ a literary genre associated with Romanticism, which is prominently featured in his manuscript legacy. (2) It analyzes the concept of the ‘fragment’ within the broader context of the problem of representation, highlighting the fragmentary nature of thought. (3) It demonstrates how the concept of the ‘fragment’ is integrated into Schopenhauer’s metaphysics of the will. Finally, (4) building upon the preceding discussions, the paper offers a comprehensive reflection on the significance of the relationship between reality, thought, and language within Schopenhauer’s philosophy.
