Arte e ingeniería: modelos de trabajo colaborativo en Argentina y Estados Unidos durante la década del sesenta

Abstract

El artículo analiza el papel sustancial desempeñado por las convergencias del arte y la ingeniería durante la década del sesenta, con el objetivo de examinar los modelos de trabajo colaborativo e interdisciplinario impulsados por distintas instituciones de la época. Mediante una investigación de tipo cualitativa que comprendió el relevamiento y estudio de diversas fuentes documentales, el escrito fundamenta que las coyunturas socio-políticas que incentivaron dicha confluencias disciplinarias a partir del trabajo conjunto entre artistas, ingenieros y científicos, presentaron características disímiles. Para inquirir estas diferencias, el artículo focaliza en dos casos de estudio: Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) en los Estados Unidos y el Centro de Arte y Comunicación (CAyC) en la Argentina.

This paper addresses the central role played by the convergence of art and engineering during the sixties of the last century, with the aim of examining the models of collaborative and interdisciplinary work promoted by different institutions of the time. Through qualitative research that comprised the study of various documentary sources, the article argues that the socio-political contexts that encouraged such disciplinary confluences from the joint work between artists, engineers and scientists, were quite different. In order to analyze these differences, the paper focuses on two case studies: Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) in the United States and the Center for Art and Communication (CAyC) in Argentina.
