Ciudadanía, una hidra de mil cabezas conceptuales: Breves consideraciones y un diálogo entre perspectivas diversas

Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es ofrecer una breve sistematización de la discusión disciplinar sobre el concepto de ciudadanía, con el propósito de identificar algunas notas que permitan ordenar la discusión teórica sobre la problemática. En el contexto latinoamericano, que se ha mostrado atravesado por neopopulismos, giros a la derecha y reminiscencias golpistas propias del siglo pasado, (re)pensar el concepto de ciudadanía se torna de gran importancia a los fines de (re)definir sus límites y alcances actuales pudiendo, con ello, constituir respuestas alternativas a los procesos que, como comunidad latinoamericana, nos atraviesan. De esta manera, el análisis propuesto permitirá concluir, que la ciudadanía ha demostrado ser un producto de la interacción no solo de los miembros pertenecientes a una comunidad política, sino también de cómo ha sido la interacción entre ciudadanos, cuasi-ciudadanos y no ciudadanos, dando lugar a lógicas de conflicto y construcción de consensos entre los actores sociales.

The aim of this work is to offer a brief systematization of the disciplinary discussion about the concept of citizenry to identify some notes that allow ordering the theoretical discussion on the problem. In the Latin American context, which has itself been traversed by neo-populisms, right turns, and coup reminiscences typical of the last century, re-thinking the citizenry concept becomes of great importance to re-define its limits and current scope being able with this, to constitute alternative responses to the processes that, as a Latin American community, we are going through. This way, the proposed analysis will allow to conclude that citizenry has shown to be a product of the interaction not just of the members that belong to a political community, but also of how the interaction between citizens, quasi-citizens, and non-citizens has been, resulting in logics of conflict and consensus construction among social actors.
