El film sobre arte argentino y su auge durante la modernidad cinematográfica: Particularidades históricas, teóricas y estéticas

Abstract

Este artículo propone un mapeo inicial de la corriente del film sobre arte en Argentina, desde sus primeras apariciones hasta su etapa de esplendor, con el objetivo de desentrañar sus singularidades en el transcurso de la modernización cultural y cinematográfica acaecida entre mediados de las décadas del cincuenta y del setenta, tanto en el terreno de la producción y la difusión, como así también en torno a los caracteres estéticos y semánticos. En primer lugar se estudian las claves históricas y teóricas de esta tendencia en Europa. En segunda y tercera instancia se exploran los antecedentes y el contexto de auge de dicha corriente en el país. Finalmente, a partir de las categorías de análisis propuestas por Guillermo G. Peydró en derredor al film sobre arte —y de otras nociones de autores abocados al estudio de los vínculos entre el cine y las artes plásticas— se procede a examinar a un amplio corpus de cortos modernos nacionales.

This article proposes an initial mapping of the trend of film on art in Argentina, from its first appearances to its splendor stage, with the aim of exploring its singularities in the course of the cultural and cinematographic modernization that occurred between the mid-1950s and the mid-1970s, both in the field of production and dissemination, as well as around aesthetic and semantic tropes. First, historical and theoretical trends in Europe are studied. In second and third place, the antecedents and the context of the rise of this trend in the country are explored. Finally, based on the categories of analysis proposed by Guillermo G. Peydró around the film on art —and other notions of authors dedicated to the study of the links between cinema and the visual arts— we proceed to examine a wide corpus of modern national short films.
