Entre multitudes y lideres: introducir la relación causada en Las multitudes argentinas de José Ramos Mejía a partir del horizonte hobbesiano

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal analizar la figura de la multitud en Las multitudes argentinas de José Ramos Mejía a partir su vínculo teórico-político con el pensamiento de Thomas Hobbes. Lejos de asumir la falta de rigurosidad que muchos análisis señalan en la obra del argentino, lo que se busca aquí es dar cuenta de un aspecto central de la misma: el vínculo que se establece entre el líder y la multitud es una relación causada y, por lo tanto, debe ser sostenida en el tiempo. En ese sentido, Ramos Mejía piensa, al igual que Hobbes, la necesidad de actualizar la relación causada como forma de habitar el conflicto entre lo Uno y lo múltiple.

The main objective of this article is to analyze the figure of the crowd in Las multitudes argentinas by José Ramos Mejía based on its theoretical-political link with the thought of Thomas Hobbes. Far from assuming the lack of rigor that many analyzes indicate in the work of the Argentine, what is sought here is to account for a central aspect of it: the link established between the leader and the crowd is a caused relationship and, therefore, it must be sustained over time. In this sense, Ramos Mejía thinks, like Hobbes, of the need to update the caused relationship as a way of inhabiting the conflict between the One and the multiple.
