La Sociedad Sarmiento, el Instituto de Estudios Históricos y los orígenes de la profesionalización de la historia en Tucumán en los años 1930

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia la creación del Instituto de Estudios Históricos de Tucumán (IEHT) y su rol en el proceso de profesionalización de la historia acaecido en la Argentina durante las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Se analizarán los vínculos establecidos entre el IEHT y los referentes de otras instituciones dedicadas al estudio e investigación de la historia en el país. Esta investigación plantea la existencia de historiadores consagrados y de un público especializado –por lo menos en el norte del país–, que habrían fomentado la creación del Instituto y permite pensar en una extensa red de personas con una vocación histórica explícita que habría excedido el área metropolitana.

This work explores the creation of the Institute for Historical Studies in Tucumán (IEHT) and their role in the process of professionalization of history that occurred in Argentina during the first decades of the twentieth century We will analyze the links established between the IEHT to other institutions dedicated to the study and research of the history in the country. This research raises the existence of historians and a specialized public - at least in the north of the country-, which would have fostered the establishment of the Institute and allows us to think of an extensive network of people with a historical vocation that explicit would have exceeded the metropolitan area.
