International student mobility is a phenomenon with a growing impact on higher education. We will address the case of young people from Brazil who travel to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA, for its acronym in Spanish; Argentina) to study medicine. We analyze the expectations and career choice criteria by the students, as well as the experiences around mobility and stays in the city. We start from the hypothesis that international mobility, for reasons related to education and training, present particularities regarding the form of integration in the host society, in terms of socialization and cultural learning. The methodology is qualitative, based on semistructured interviews with students.
