Este artículo se propone abordar la contratación de trabajadoras mujeres por parte de una empresa ferroviaria –el Ferrocarril Central Argentino– durante las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Al mismo tiempo, analiza esa incorporación de personal femenino en el marco de las políticas de gestión de mano de obra de la compañía y de las concepciones de género desarrolladas por su Dirección.

This paper focuses on the recruitment of women by a railway company –the Central Argentine Railway– during the first decades of the 20th century. At the same time, it analyses this recruitment of female staff in the context of the company’s managerial strategies and concepts of gender developed by the firm.
