Revisión bibliográfica: el fenómeno YouTube y las prácticas de enseñanza y de aprendizaje

Abstract

Los usos que hacen los jóvenes de las plataformas resultan significativos e intensos. YouTube no es ajena a dicho fenómeno y ha cobrado relevancia tanto en términos cuantitativos (el aumento en el número de suscriptores y visualizaciones que se verifica enla plataforma) como cualitativos (la variedad del contenido ofrecido por la plataforma). Más aún, dicha plataforma es utilizada tanto para entretenerse como para aprender cuestiones de interés personal y/o derivas de la educación formal. Así, YouTube es un espacio central para comprender las formas de hacer mundo de los jóvenes en general y de cómo y con qué contenidos aprenden en particular; en efecto, en este artículo presentamos una revisión bibliográfica en la que se reúnen los principales aportes acerca de los usos de YouTube y su relación con las prácticas de aprendizaje. Finalmente, a partir de las vacancias identificadas, presentamos algunas consideraciones y posibles futuras líneas de investigación.

The use of platforms by young people is significant and intense. YouTube is no stranger to this phenomenon and has become relevant both in quantitative terms (the increase in the number of subscribers and views on the platform) and qualitative terms (the variety of content offered by the platform). The platform is used for entertainment and to learn about issues of personal interest and/or those derived from formal education. YouTube is a central space for understanding the ways of doing the world of young people in general and how and with what content they learn in particular; indeed, in this paper we present a literature review that brings together the main contributions about the uses of YouTube and its relationship with learning practices. Finally, based on the gaps identified, we present some considerations and possible future lines of research.
