La memoria institucional de Ejército Argentino sobre el pasado reciente (1999-2008)

Abstract

Nos últimos 30 anos, a imagem que o Exercito Argentino construiu para sim e para a sociedade respondeu tanto a necessidade de edificar uma memória que reforçasse os sentimentos de pertença e auto-valoração e que estimulasse a rememoração e a transmissão com uma forte carga afetiva para as novas gerações de oficiais, quanto à obrigação de fazer frente a os da uma sociedade que exige respostas pelos crimes cometidos durante a ultima ditadura (1976-1983). As continuidades e as transformações na memória institucional do exercito são fruto das negociações e das confrontações que a instituição castrense mantém para dentro com o relato da “luta contra a subversão” e para fora com o discurso das organizações de direitos humanos e a memória dos desaparecidos. Nesse sentido, o artigo propõe-se estabelecer a relação entre cambio e continuidade da memória institucional do Exercito Argentino a partir das políticas de memória das gestões do general Ricardo Brinzoni de dezembro de 1999 ate maio de 2003 com a institucionalização do lema “Memória Completa” e do general Roberto Bendini de maio de 2003 ate setembro de 2008 com dês-institucionalização da memória da “luta contra a subversão”.

Over the past 30 years, the image the Argentine Army have built for themselves and shown to society results from two basic issues: the need to construct a memory reinforcing the feeling of belonging and self-esteem and encouraging transmission to the new generations of officers with a strong emotional weight; and the pressure to explain lesa humanity crimes. The continuities and transformations in the institutional memory of the army are the consequence of internal negotiations with the narrative of the ¨fight against subversion¨, and external confrontations with the discourse of Human Rights organizations and the memory of the disappeared. This article aims at establishing the relation between change and continuity in the institutional memory of the Argentine Army on the basis of the memory policies carried out by two heads: General Ricardo Brinzoni (1999-2003) with the institutionalization of the slogan ¨Complete Memory¨, and General Roberto Bendini (2003-2008), based on a process of de-institutionalization of the memory of the ¨fight against subversion¨.
