Derivas de la comunidad: algunas reflexiones preliminares para una teoría sociológica en (y desde) América Latina

Abstract

El trabajo presenta por un lado el proceso histórico a partir del cual se produjo la invención, consolidación y declive de lo social-estato-nacional. Por otro lado, realza el significado que ha tenido la comunidad como concepto sociológico fundamental, presentando asimismo diversos registros o sentidos en que ella fue históricamente problematizada por diversos autores. Ambos pasos, que resumen trabajos previamente realizados por el autor de este trabajo y su equipo de investigación, se realizan a los fines de avanzar hacia una espacialización de la teoría sociológica en clave latinoamericana, que pueda ir más allá del eurocentrismo presente en buena parte del mainstream sociológico. Así, se esbozan algunas reflexiones (todavía de carácter preliminar) que se orientan a identificar el lugar (histórico y actual) de la comunidad en el pensamiento social y sociológico latinoamericano, identificando en ello las muy diversas orientaciones y significados que asumió.

This work presents, on one hand, the historical process from which the origin, consolidation and decline of the concept of ―the social-nation-state‖ emerged. On the other hand, it emphasizes the significance that the community has had as a fundamental sociological concept, and presents the different meanings it has had for several authors over the years. This work, which summarizes previous texts presented by the same author and his research team, has the purpose to ―spatialize‖ sociological theory in a Latin American perspective, trying to go beyond the eurocentrism which dominates much of the current sociological mainstream. Hence, some preliminary observations are included, whose main objective is to identify the significance, both current and historical, of the concept of community in the Latin American social and sociological thought, mentioning the very diverse orientations and meanings it had.
