Closing Remarks: Transborder Care Circuits

Abstract

These closing remarks are not intended to review in detail the conclusions that have been outlined at the end of each chapter of this book. Instead, the following pages highlight three key elements from the main debates drawn out by this book. The first succinctly summarizes some conclusive statements thrown up by each chapter, which will be used as a starting point for the subsequent reflections. The second outlines three theoretical contributions derived from our study that open up new research horizons regarding female mobilities in border territories. In the third, I propose the concept of a “Care Barometer,” relating it to transborder care circuits. This debate will support our definition of the three dialectical tensions that characterize ultra-intensity patriarchy and its configuration in the life trajectories of Paraguayan women in the Paraná Tri-Border Area (TBA).
