Rebeldía, provincia, enfermedad: Autofiguración en Aire tan dulce de Elvira Orphée

Abstract

En sintonía con la renovada atención que el problema de la autoría y de la figuración del escritor en la obra constituye para la crítica literaria (Scarano 2014), este artículo propone una lectura de Aire tan dulce, novela de 1966 de Elvira Orphée, que procura precisamente recuperar el vínculo del texto con la dimensión de la figura autoral. Aunque no se trata de una novela autobiográfica, pueden reconocerse numerosos cruces entre ciertos rasgos de su protagonista y los elementos a partir de los que Orphée elabora una “figura de autor(a)” (Premat 2009) y construye, en conversaciones y entrevistas, una imagen de sí y de su vida en Tucumán, la provincia natal que abandonaría pronto. Tales cruces son examinados a partir de dos núcleos: la rebeldía y la enfermedad. Además de revelar la circulación de contenidos entre las dimensiones ficticia y autoral, el análisis sugiere la posibilidad de pensar a la protagonista de Aire tan dulce como una suerte de proyección imaginaria de la autora y, en tal sentido, como parte de un proceso de autofiguración desde la ficción de la escritura.

The problem of the author and the figuration of the writer in the work is object of a renewed attention for Literary criticism (Scarano 2014). This article proposes a new perspective on Aire tan dulce, novel by Elvira Orphée published in 1966, that precisely aspires to recover the link between the text and the author. Even though the novel is not autobiographical, there are several coincidences between certain features of the protagonist and the elements used by Orphée in order to elaborate her “figure of an author” (Premat 2009) and to construct, in interviews and conversations, an image of herself and of her vital experience in Tucumán, the Argentinian province where she was born and would soon abandon. Those coincidences are examined taking into consideration two issues: rebellion and disease. The analysis reveals the circulation of contents among character and author, and postulates that the protagonist of Aire tan dulce can be thought as a sort of imaginary projection of the author and, in that way, as part of a process of self-figuration in the fiction of the work.
