Entre la mirada fotográfica y la imagen fantasma: tres autorretratos de Amanda Berenguer

Abstract

En la poesía hispánica el autorretrato conoció su auge en el Barroco y el Modernismo. Existe, además, una tradición femenina del género en la que sobresalen autoras como Sor Juana y Delmira Agustini. En este trabajo se propone una lectura de tres poemas de Amanda Berenguer (Montevideo, 1921-2010) en los que la poeta se autodescribe en distintas etapas de la vida, mientras transita respectivamente su cuarta, sexta y octava década. Su objetivo es confrontar las diversas estrategias de autofiguración que presentan estos textos, atendiendo a los tópicos, isotopías y procedimientos derivados de las tecnologías de la imagen que ellos manifiestan.

In Hispanic poetry, the self-portrait reached its peak during the Baroque and Modernismo. There is a feminine tradition of the genre, which includes such authors as Sor Juana and Delmira Agustini. In this article, I propose an interpretation of three poems by Amanda Berenguer (Montevideo, 1921-2010) in which the poet describes herself in different periods of her life: during her forties, her sixties and her eighties. The aim is to confront the various strategies of self-figuration in these texts taking into account the topics, isotopies, and procedures derived from the technologies of the image that they include.
