Antropólogas feministas por el derecho a decidir: Aportes para una historia de la lucha por la despenalización y legalización del aborto en Argentina

Abstract

Como integrantes de la Colectiva de Antropólogas Feministas y de la Campaña Nacional por el Derecho al Aborto Legal, Seguro y Gratuito, nos interesa reconstruir, brevemente, la historia social de la demanda feminista por el derecho al aborto. No pretendemos ser exhaustivas, sino más bien generar un ejercicio reflexivo. Nos interesa señalar ciertos mojones de esta historia, hitos de una lucha feminista en la cual nos reconocemos y de la que formamos parte. Este ejercicio se reactualiza y se torna más necesario aun en el contexto en el que actualmente nos encontramos. Si bien tenemos una larga historia de reivindicación feminista del derecho al aborto, el debate por la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo no había ocupado un lugar primordial en la agenda política del país. El año 2018 nos sorprendió con la posibilidad de discutir el proyecto de la Campaña en el Congreso Nacional.Al habilitarse la discusión en el Congreso,el movimiento feminista y amplio de mujeres hemos visto el resultado de un largo camino de luchas y la oportunidad histórica para que el proyecto de la Campaña por el Derecho al Aborto Legal, Seguro y Gratuito sea finalmente ley. Ahora bien, que la discusión parlamentaria haya sido resultado de una decisión política del Ejecutivo merece cierta puntualización, en tanto puede leerse como una suerte de pinkwashing vernáculo

As members of the Collective of Feminist Anthropologists and of the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe and Free Abortion, we are interested in reconstructing, briefly here, the social history of the feminist demand for the right to abortion. We do not intend here to be exhaustive, but rather to generate a reflective exercise. We are interested in pointing out certain milestones in this history, milestones of a feminist struggle, in which we recognize ourselves and of which we are a part.This exercise is re-updated and becomes even more necessary, in the context in which we currently find ourselves. Although we have a long history of feminist claim to the right to abortion, the debate over the voluntary interruption of pregnancy had not occupied a central place in the political agenda of the country. The year 2018 surprised us with the possibility of discussing the Campaign project in the National Congress. By enabling the discussion in Congress, the women’s movement has seen the result of a long road of struggle and the historic opportunity for the Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe and Free Abortion to finally succeed. Now, that the parliamentary discussion has been the result of a political decision of the Executive deserves some clarification, it can be read as a kind of vernacular pinkwashing
