La nueva izquierda en la historia reciente de América Latina. Un diálogo entre Vania Markarian, Vera Carnovale, Ivette Lozoya López, Adela Cedillo y Sandra Jaramillo Restrepo

Abstract

Con el objetivo de comprender las potencialidades y limitaciones del concepto de nueva izquierda en el estudio de las experiencias contestatarias de América Latina de los años sesenta y setenta, convocamos a un grupo de investigadoras de destacada trayectoria, pertenecientes a instituciones de distintos países de la región y de Estados Unidos. De esta manera, a continuación reproducimos un diálogo entre Vania Markarian de la Universidad de la República de Uruguay, Vera Carnovale y Sandra Jaramillo Restrepo del Centro de Documentación e Investigación de la Cultura de Izquierdas (CeDInCI) de Argentina, Ivette Lozoya López de la Universidad de Valparaíso de Chile y Adela Cedillo de la Universidad de Houston de Estados Unidos.

With the aim of understanding the potentialities and limitations of the concept of the new left within the study of the antiestablishment Latin America experience in the sixties and seventies, we invited a group of researchers with outstanding trajectory, from institutions in different countries of the region and the United States. In this way, below we reproduce a dialogue between Vania Markarian from the University of the Republic in Uruguay, Vera Carnovale and Sandra Jaramillo Restrepo from the Center for Documentation and Research on Left Culture (CeDInCI) from Argentina, Ivette Lozoya López from Valparaíso University in Chile, and Adela Cedillo from the University of Houston in the United States.
