A droop control strategy is proposed using a virtual impedance loop to achieve a predominantly inductive output impedance at the fundamental frequency. The reduced computational cost at implementing the strategy is achieved by using a simple integral controller in the voltage control loop. Additionally, an analysis of the gain limits of this controller is done by means of the study of the system's robustness, varying the inductance of the LC filter. The emergence of a DC value at the inductor current is also examined, a problem that arises by the use of an inductive characteristic at low frequency. That DC value produces additional losses in the inductor. A simple solution is proposed to eliminate this problem by modifying the characteristic of the output impedance at low frequency. Simulation results validate this proposal.
