Mujeres que dicen basta: El trabajo femenino en las feministas de los años setenta

Abstract

El movimiento de liberación de las mujeres surgió en Argentina como espejo de las experiencias norteamericanas y europeas. Sin embargo, existe una orientación materialista de dicha emergencia que comenzó a brindar testimonios sobre la explotación femenina en el hogar, antes que aquellos focos de influencia internacional. El contexto del activismo feminista que se renovó entre finales de los años sesenta y comienzos de los setenta fue el escenario donde se reconoció al hogar como foco de explotación del trabajo femenino, en cuanto esfera de la reproducción capitalista. Las activistas cercanas a la Unión Feminista Argentina adoptaron esta interpretación, que con el tiempo quedó en el olvido por el silencio que impuso el Terrorismo de Estado a mediados de los setenta. Al considerar ese aporte pionero, se estudian los escritos de la publicación Muchacha y la editorial Nueva Mujer, para comprender el modo cómo se desarrolló inicialmente el debate sobre el trabajo reproductivo en Argentina.

The women´s liberation movement emerged in Argentina as a mirror of North American and European experiences. However, there is a materialistic orientation of the emergency that began to provide testimonies about the exploitation of women in the home, before those sources of international influence. The context of feminist activism that was renewed between the late 1960s and early 1970s was the setting where the home was recognized as the focus of exploitation of women´s labor, as a sphere of capitalist reproduction. The activists close to the Unión Feminista Argentina adopted this interpretation, which over time was forgotten by the silence imposed by State Terrorism in the mid-1970s. Considering this pioneering contribution, the writings of the publication Muchacha and Nueva Mujer publishing, to understand how the debate on reproductive work in Argentina initially developed.
