El Inca: Fundador de discursividad, fundador de discontinuidad

Abstract

El Inca Garcilaso de la Vega y, especialmente, sus Comentarios reales resultan a la literatura lo que Bach, y su Ofrenda musical, a la música: fundación, en el conflicto de las interpretaciones, de la lucha por el sentido como su régimen de existencia. Para ello, articula el Inca en sus Comentarios las dos sospechas matrices del lenguaje, que el lenguaje no dice exactamente lo que dice y que hay muchas cosas que hablan sin ser lenguaje. Y así redefine el modo de producción de sentido y modifica, irreversiblemente, el espacio de repartición en el cual los signos pueden ser signos, inaugurando un territorio de inteligibilidad distinto (pero no separado) que recompone, aún hoy, el mapa cultural de una ecúmene inesperada pero definitiva. La lengua con la que lo hace, el nombre y figura de autor a que lo atribuye y la temporalidad que construye para radicar su obra son las tres preocupaciones, y directrices, que guían este ensayo.

Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and, especially, his Comentarios reales are to literature what Bach and his The Musical Offering are to music: in the conflict of interpretation, the founding of the struggle for meaning as an existence regime. To achieve this, the Inca brings together language’s both original suspicions in his Comentarios: that language doesn’t say exactly what it says; and that there are many things that speak without being language. And thus, he redefines the way meaning is produced, and changes, irreversibly, the space of distribution where signs can be signs, opening a different (but not separate) territory of intelligibility that repairs, even today, the cultural map of an unexpected but definitive ecumene. The language with which he does it, the name and figure of the author to whom he attributes it, and the temporality that he builds in order to place his work, are the three concerns –and principles– that guide this essay.
