Pensar la Guerra de Malvinas (1982) en el teatro a través de Miguel de Cervantes: Nos Arrancaría de Este Lugar para Siempre (2013), de Diego Faturos

Abstract

La guerra de Malvinas (1982) marca un antes y un después en la historia argentina (Escudero, 1997; Guber, 2001). A pesar de haber ocurrido hace treinta y siete años, aún resulta conflictivo formular una lectura histórica orgánica debido a que sus efectos y consecuencias no han dejado de acontecer (Agamben, 2002). En la posguerra argentina, el teatro opera como un territorio fértil para las representaciones (Chartier, 1992), capaz de activar los trabajos de la memoria (Jelin, 2002). Si bien reunimos un corpus de más de ochenta textos teatrales que indagan sobre la guerra de Malvinas (R. Dubatti, 2019), en el presente trabajo examinaremos Nos arrancaría de este lugar para siempre (2013), de Diego Faturos. Encargada por el Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires, en 2013, para formar parte del ciclo Teatros Ejemplares, la pieza toma como punto de partida «La española inglesa», novela ejemplar de Cervantes, y la reconfigura desde las coordenadas de la guerra de Malvinas. A través de procedimientos del expresionismo (J. Dubatti, 2009), Faturos reescribe el texto original de Cervantes para llevarlo al pasado reciente argentino. Así, con una producción que apunta a un espectador activo, ofrece una nueva mirada sobre la guerra con el objetivo de mantener la memoria activa.

The Malvinas War (1982) marks a before and after in Argentine history (Escudero, 1997; Guber, 2001). Despite having occurred 37 years ago, the war is still conflictive to formulate an organic historical reading because its effects and consequences have not stopped happening (Agamben, 2002). In the Argentine postwar period, the theater operates as a fertile territory for the performances (Chartier, 1992), capable of activating the memory as a work (Jelin, 2002). Although we have gathered a corpus of more than 80 theatrical texts that inquire about the Malvinas War (R. Dubatti, 2019), in this paper we will examine Nos arrancaría de este lugar para siempre (2013) by Diego Faturos. Commissioned by the Centro Cultural de España in Buenos Aires in 2013 to be part of the Teatros Ejemplares cycle, the piece takes «La española inglesa» –an exemplary novel by Cervantes– as its starting point, and reconfigures it from the coordinates of the Malvinas War. Through procedures of expressionism (J. Dubatti, 2009), Faturos rewrites the original text by Cervantes aiming to take it to the recent past of Argentine history. Thus, through a production which aims to an active spectator, the author offers a new look at historical events with the goal of keeping active memory.
