Argentina en el contexto de crisis y transición energética

Abstract

A comienzos del siglo XXI las sociedades se enfrentan al desafío de reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero para evitar una catástrofe global. La generación de energía a partir de fuentes fósiles representa una de las principales actividades responsables de estas emisiones. Es por ello que la implementación de tecnologías renovables es una de las estrategias para iniciar una transición energética que contribuya en la lucha contra el cambio climático. El artículo tiene como objetivo explorar la crisis energética global, haciendo hincapié en los impactos asociados y las alternativas de tránsito hacia un sistema sostenible, para analizar la situación de Argentina en este contexto a partir de las transformaciones del sistema eléctrico. Para ello, se ha realizado una revisión documental, recurriendo a diversas fuentes y datos secundarios. En el marco de un escenario energético mundial en transición, Argentina lleva adelante diferentes políticas para alcanzar una matriz eléctrica más diversa y limpia. Ello se refleja en el récord de generación renovable alcanzado y en la reglamentación de la generación distribuida. Un compromiso político a mediano y largo plazo será fundamental para continuar favoreciendo la descarbonización y descentralización del sistema eléctrico argentino.

At the beginning of the 21st century, societies face the challenge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to avoid a global catastrophe. The generation of energy from fossil fuels is one of the main activities responsible for these emissions. Therefore, the implementation of renewable technologies is one of the strategies to initiate an energy transition that contributes to the fight against climate change. The aim of this article is to explore the global energy crisis, emphasizing the associated impacts and the alternatives of transition towards a sustainable system, and in this context, to analyze the situation of Argentina based on the transformations of the electricity system. For this purpose, a documentary review has been carried out resorting to different sources and secondary data. Within the framework of a global energy scenario in transition, Argentina is implementing different policies to achieve a more diverse and cleaner electricity matrix. This is reflected in the record of renewable generation achieved and in the regulation of distributed generation. A medium and long-term political commitment will be fundamental to continue favoring the decarbonization and decentralization of the Argentine electricity system.
