Afrodescendientes en Entre Ríos: Oralidad y arqueología histórica en torno al caso de Ingeniero Sajaroff, dpto. Villaguay

Abstract

El caso de los afrodescendientes de Ingeniero Sajaroff (departamento Villaguay, provincia de Entre Ríos, República Argentina), quienes conservan una oralidad que asocia su presencia allí a la huida desde Brasil de un grupo de esclavizados ocurrida durante el siglo XIX, da inicio a investigaciones que nos llevan a contemplar y aproximarnos al estudio de la población afrodescendiente de la provincia. El objetivo del presente trabajo es aportar nueva información al conocimiento que tenemos en torno a los afrodescendientes del área de estudio. Se presentan los resultados de los trabajos de archivo y campo, y análisis de materiales recuperados. Se indaga en torno a los procesos ligados a la diáspora en la provincia de Entre Ríos durante el siglo XIX.

The case of afrodescendants of Ingeniero Sajaroff (Villaguay Department, Entre Ríos Province, Argentine Republic), who maintains an orality that associates their presence there with the escape of a group of enslaved people from Brazil during the 19th century, initiates investigations that lead us to contemplate and approach the study of the afrodescendant population of the province. The goal of the present work is to contribute with new information to the knowledge that we have around the afrodescendants of the study area. The results of archival and fieldwork, and analysis of recovered materials are presented. It is investigated around the processes related to the diaspora in the Entre Ríos province during the 19th century
