El manual escolar de ciencias en las representaciones de docentes expertos y noveles

Abstract

En este trabajo caracterizamos las representaciones sociales de docentes de ciencias sobre el manual escolar. Realizamos el abordaje del objeto de investigación desde la perspectiva estructural de la teoría de las representaciones sociales. Participaron en esta investigación docentes de diez provincias de Argentina. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de una técnica asociativa de evocación y jerarquización usando el término inductor: manual escolar de Ciencias Naturales. Para profundizar el análisis, subdividimos la muestra en docentes noveles y expertos. Los resultados obtenidos nos han permitido, por un lado, identificar la estructura de las representaciones sociales de ambos grupos, notando en su núcleo coincidencias que se relacionan especialmente con las secciones más tradicionales del manual, y por otro lado, realizar comparaciones que nos llevan a formular recomendaciones referidas a la formación docente continua para optimizar el uso del manual escolar en el aula de ciencias.

In this paper we characterize the social representations of science teachers about the textbook. The object of study was approached from the structural perspective of the theory of social representations. This research involved teachers from ten provinces of Argentina. Data were collected by an associative technique of evocation and hierarchy using the inductor term: textbook of Natural Sciences. To deepen the analysis, we divided the sample into novice and expert teachers. The results obtained enabled us, on the one hand, to identify the structure of the social representations of both groups, noting in its core coincidences that are specifically related to the more traditional sections of the textbook, and, on the other hand, to make comparisons that lead us to formulate recommendations related to continuous teacher training in order to optimize the use of the textbook in the science class.
