Result exciting to deepen the knowledge on vitamin D (VD) nanoformulations applied to the prevention and treatment of specific inflammatory/oxidative diseases such as neurodegenerative and cardiovascular pathologies instead of continuing to research only on VD nanoformulations implemented in food fortification or bone health (which are so far their main explored field of application). Likewise, there is not much information about using different targeting strategies to localize the action of VD through the accumulation or uptake of nanoformulations at specific sites in the body when they are administered systemically. Thus, the implementation of passive, active or physic targeting in the design of nanoformulations for VD delivery during prevalent inflammatory/oxidative diseases could undoubtedly open a wide range of possibilities in this therapeutic field.
