Los otros muertos: una investigación sobre las “víctimas del terrorismo” en la década del setenta

Abstract

En 2014, la presidenta del Centro de Estudios Legales sobre el Terrorismo y sus Víctimas (CELTYV), Victoria Villarruel, y el abogado Carlos Manfroni publicaron Los otros muertos: las víctimas civiles del terrorismo guerrillero en los 70. Editado por uno de los sellos editoriales más importantes del país, Sudamericana, el objetivo principal de la obra fue visibilizar los dramas y establecer una cifra potencial de las denominadas “víctimas del terrorismo” provocadas por las organizaciones político-revolucionarias argentinas durante la década del setenta. Aquí proponemos examinar cómo el mencionado libro buscó contribuir a la configuración de un problema público en torno al “terrorismo” durante la década del setenta. En particular, nos interrogaremos por los usos de la figura de “víctima del terrorismo” mediante la selección de casos emblemáticos y la dramatización de relatos. Para esta tarea utilizaremos fuentes documentales y una entrevista en profundidad realizada a la presidente del CELTYV.

In 2014, the president of the Centro de Estudios Legales sobre el Terrorismo y sus Víctimas (CELTYV), Victoria Villarruel, and lawyer Carlos Manfroni published Los otros muertos: las víctimas civiles del terrorismo guerrillero en los 70. Published by one of the most important publishing houses in the country, Sudamericana, the main objective of the work was to make visible the dramas and establish a potential number of the so-called “victims of terrorism” caused by the Argentine revolutionary political organizations during the 1970s. Here we propose to examine how the aforementioned book sought to contribute to the configuration of a public problem surrounding “terrorism” during the 1970s. In particular, we will examine the uses of the figure of the “victim of terrorism” through the selection of emblematic cases and the dramatization of stories. For this task we will use documentary sources and an in-depth interview with the president of CELTYV.
