Estrategias pragmáticas en correos electrónicos académicos de Argentina y España

Abstract

El correo electrónico es una herramienta indispensable en la interacción entre profesores y alumnos. El artículo presenta los resultados de la aplicación de un test de hábitos sociales (Hernández-Flores, 2002) en dos centros universitarios: Viedma (Argentina) y Segovia (España). Los objetivos de investigación son el análisis de las estrategias utilizadas en actos de habla de pedido o petición según diferentes interlocutores y su estudio contrastivo, a fin de identificar si existen tendencias que diferencien los usos de hablantes de dos variedades de español. Nuestra hipótesis de partida es que los estudiantes modifican sus estrategias a medida que participan en diferentes situaciones comunicativas. Los resultados señalan que si bien ambos grupos presentan un repertorio acotado de estrategias pragmáticas, los estudiantes argentinos acumulan mayor cantidad de recursos en cada mensaje.

E-mails have become an essential tool in academic communication and, especially, between teachers and students. The article presents the results of a social habits test (Hernández-Flores, 2002), distributed in two university campus: Viedma (Argentina) and Segovia (Spain). The research objectives are (1) the analysis of the strategies used in speech acts of request according to different interlocutors and (2) the contrastive study of the data, in order to identify if there are tendencies that differentiate the uses of two Spanish varieties speakers. Our starting hypothesis is that students will modify their strategies while participating in various interaction situations. The results indicate that, although both groups resort to a delimited set of pragmatic strategies, the Argentinean students exhibit a wider set of resources in each message.
