Abstract

In this chapter, we provide an overview of the main agricultural features of different regions of the country. In the northwest region, climate favors the development of subtropical agriculture, especially in the ample valleys. A great proportion of the expansion of agricultural frontier over the last decades took place in this region and also in the northeast region, partially displacing traditional productions.
