Diferencia en la participación laboral según país de nacimiento y destino en los mercados de trabajo de América Latina, para la ronda de censos 2010

Abstract

En el marco del incremento significativo de los intercambios intrarregionales desde fines del siglo XX, que cobran mayor relevancia tras la crisis financiera del año 2008 y el consecuente endurecimiento de las restricciones en los países centrales, se realiza un análisis descriptivo de la tasa de actividad en los mercados laborales de América Latina según el país de nacimiento de la mano de obra, diferenciando según sexo. Luego, se examina las brechas en la tasa de participación entre la población nativa y los países de destinos de los inmigrantes en los mercados de la región, arribando a conclusiones respecto a la inserción laboral como inmigrante según país de nacimiento y sexo, asociado al grado de segmentación ocupacional existente en cada caso. Las fuentes secundarias corresponden a los censos realizados alrededor del año 2010 en América Latina, y al banco de datos del proyecto de Investigación de la Migración Internacional en Latinoamérica (IMILA) del CELADE. Sobre ellas, se han aplicado pautas de consistencia para establecer la comparabilidad entre los distintos países, y realizar los procesamientos entre las variables requeridas para lograr la información empírica necesaria.

In the significant frame of the increase in intraregional exchanges since the end of the 20th century, which became more relevant after the financial crisis of the year 2008 and the consistent hardening of the restrictions in the central countries, here is a descriptive analysis of the valuation of activity on the labor markets of Latin America depending on the worker’s birth country, and according to sex. Then we examine the breaches in the participation valuation between the native population and the countries of destinations of the immigrants on the markets of the region, arriving at conclusions with regard to the labor insertion as immigrant according to country of birth and sex associated with the grade of existing occupational segmentation in each case. The secondary sources correspond to the censuses realized about the year 2010 in Latin America, and to the data bank of the research project of the International Migration in Latin America (IMILA) of the CELADE. On which, consistency rules have been applied to establish the comparability between the different countries, and to realize the processing between the necessary variables to achieve the necessary empirical information.
