Inseguridad y delito en la prensa regional y local argentina

Abstract

Este artículo estudia los modos de construcción y establecimiento de las agendas sobre el delito en dos diarios centenarios de la región sur de Argentina, Río Negro, regional, y La Nueva, local, en la actualidad reciente. Focaliza en el análisis del diseño de las agendas, la selección de acontecimientos-noticia, y en el funcionamiento del sensacionalismo (estilo dominante en las crónicas policiales) y la hipérbole (figura retórica mediante la cual el sensacionalismo opera discursivamente). El objetivo es identificar las imágenes de realidad y de país, sus provincias y localidades, construidas por la prensa de carácter no nacional. El abordaje del corpus se articula con los marcos sociohistóricos de cada diario para aportar a la comprensión de cómo estos presionan sobre la construcción de la información que recibe la sociedad en el país.

This article studies the ways of construction and establishment of crime´s agendas in two centennial newspapers of the southern region of Argentina, Río Negro, regional, and La Nueva, local, in the recent present. The work focusses on the analysis of the agenda’s design, the selection of news events, and the functioning of sensationalism (predominant style in crime news) and hyperbole (figure of speech through which that narrative resource operates). The aim is to identify images of the reality and the country, its provinces and localities, built by non-national press. The approach of the corpus is articulated with the sociohistorical frames of each newspaper in order to contribute to the understanding of how they influence the construction of the information that society receives in the country.
