dc.description.abstract
dc.description.abstract
This paper explores the complex ideological framework that was behind the collective construction of the Episcopal discourses in Argentina during the peak of the crisis and exit of the convertibility regime's period. It will take fundamentally four discourses: i. the final document of the Plenary Assembly of Bishops “Today the country needs something unprecedented”, of May 12, 2001; ii. the communication from the Permanent Commission “We want to be a nation”, of August 10, 2001; iii. the text “Letter to the People of God”, of November 18, 2001, issued by the Assembly; and iv. the homily of Mons. Jorge Bergoglio, actually Pope Francis, in the mass of Te Deum of May 25, 2002. From a theoretical and analytical framework that recover contributions of the sociology of religion, philosophy, theology and analysis of the religious discourse, a series of discursive strategies used by the involved actors will be taken. Including persuasion by the myth of the national-being, the standardization/discipline that operated within the episcopal body of the Permanent Commission, the indexicalization of traces of previous collective discourses, and the association between biblical and experiential memory to set a particular political position.
