Urban Models in the Study in Latina American Cities

Abstract

Urban models are an important tool for understanding the social distribution of the population in the inner city. Th ey were initially proposed for the Anglo-American cities and they had to be adjusted to the description of the spatial structure of Latin American cities. This paper analyzes the evolution that these models have had since 1925 to the present and focuses on the contributions made by Axel Borsdorf, who has developed a research program of high productivity and excellent results that support the strength of the state of the art in the subject. Stadtmodelle sind ein wichtiges Hilfsmittel, um die sozialräumliche Verteilung der Bevölkerung im Inneren der Städte zu verstehen. Zu Beginn standen Vorschläge zu angloamerikanischen Städten, die dann für die Beschreibung der Raumstrukturen lateinamerikanischer Städte angepasst wurden. Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert die Entwicklung dieser Modelle von 1925 bis heute und betrachtet dabei die Beiträge von Axel Borsdorf näher, dessen höchstproduktiven Forschungen und bedeutenden Ergebnisse maßgeblich zum derzeitigen, umfangreichen Forschungsstand beigetragen haben.
